Review of Batman: Under the Red Hood (2010) by Kris L — 05 Apr 2011
Literally the ONLY thing I would change in this movie is Bruce Greenwood as Batman. The whole first half of the movie I was annoyed by his performance. I just can't imagine animated Batman without Kevin Conroy.
I was also surprised that Mark Hamill wasn't here, but John DiMaggio does a surprisingly good job as the Joker. I was especially surprised by NPH as Nightwing--a perfect fit in my opinion. The animation looks beautiful in BluRay, but again, my problem here is the CGI still just doesn't fit with the animation.
Everyone complains about it in every animated movie that features it, I don't get why they insist on it. It by no means ruins the movie however. The story is amazing, and the characterization is superb.
I was more emotionally gripped than I ever thought I'd be. The very last scene of the film just gets me every time I watch it. I can't recomend this movie enough.
