Review of Batman: The Killing Joke (2016) by Steve W — 24 Jul 2016
Batman: The Killing Joke polarized fans back in the day. Alan Moore did something ballsy by giving us a Joker origin story, but he also decided to cripple another character. People were for it, as Oracle would become a very popular facet, and the original story is pretty haunting and dark.
The animated adaptation does something a bit more ballsy, it adds on a 30 minute prologue sequence about Batgirl. It develops her character before her fate in the book. People will either hate it or be okay with it, but what matters is that the voice acting is solid, so are the action sequences.
Its not the greatest Batman or Joker animated movie, but it is good enough.
