Review of Batman: The Killing Joke (2016) by Sean E — 25 Jul 2016

This animated (and R-rated) adaptation of the classic graphic novel misses the mark - and rather badly. My biggest complaint is that a significant portion of the film's runtime is dedicated to a lame romantic drama between Batman and Batgirl (complete with an absolutely ridiculous "heat-of-passion" near-sex scene) that barely qualifies as connecting to the actual Killing Joke story.

It was as if I was watching a double feature, not a coalesced whole film.
