Review of Batman: The Killing Joke (2016) by Derrick S — 30 Jul 2016
I considered myself fortunate to see this at the cinema. How wrong I was, the idea of a prologue featuring Batgirl sounded great. However, instead of her cracking a case and kicking ass we get her being mopey and incompetent.
They destroy her relationship with Batman, I wondered if the writers actually hated Batgirl and wanted her to deserve her fate. On another matter Batgirls best friend is one of the worst cliche gay bffs Ive seen in a long time, gender politics from the stone age.
A horrible film that would be one star, if not for Hamills brilliance as the Joker. He is worthy of greater material than he has been given here.
