Review of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2 (2013) by Adrian Z — 07 May 2013
Epic conclusion to the adaptation of Frank Miller's graphic novel, sees an ageing Batman face off against Joker whilst evading the law, which puts him directly on a collission path with Superman. Episodic, shockingly violent when it comes to the Joker's actions, but far more dramatically potent than would be expected from this type of animation.
Only letdown is that, excluding Weller as Batman who is appropriately stoic and commanding, voiceover work is too full of dull gravitas. The Joker's voice actor seems to be going for suave, but comes off dull and humourless, which is just wrong for the character.
