Review of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 (2012) by Maruf H — 11 Jan 2013
It carries the same dark tone of Christopher Nolan's trilogy, although doing anything different would have been a bad judgment call considering this is simply a modified iteration of The Dark Knight Rises.
Batman/Bruce Wayne has a more obvious age gap since his wearing the cowl in this version of the same story, and it somehow makes him less likable, but when all of Gotham is in awe of his return, so is the audience.
The film ends with the perfect opening for Part 2 as our favorite loon finds his (in)sanity.
