Review of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 (2012) by T.j. M — 22 Sep 2012
Let me begin by saying that I've waited for this movie for over 25 years. It was well worth the wait, I can't believe that I caught myself crying when this movie began. Yes I said it and I'm man enough to admit it, this movie captures everything that Batman is about.
If you read the comic like me over and over and of course over again, you can identify with what I say next. There is inner monologue that Batman (Bruce Wayne) goes into at critical parts in the comic book that go unnoticed by those who watch this movie, but I have read the comic so many times that as it was happening I could almost hear it.
It was beautifully done, a masterpiece that I will never forget. I plan on watching this again and again (just like reading the comic), I know no one cares about my opinion and that's fine. Probably no one will read this and that's ok, it just felt great to try and convey the thoughts before they went blank.
The best Batman movie...period, not just animation....live action as well......period.
