Review of Batman Returns (1992) by Morgan H — 11 Sep 2012

Although Batman is almost a downright supporting character in his own film (even more so than in Burton's first outing), the cast of characters is each so fascinating in their own right (Wayne/ Batman's juggling of his private and public life, Penguin's tragic roots, Catwoman's slide into depravity and her shared split in personality with Batman, and Shreck's deliciously Walken-esque megalomania) that it is hard not to be entertained and even moved by the story.
