Review of Batman Returns (1992) by Brandon W — 08 Jan 2015
Batman Returns is a superior sequel to Batman that shows that even though Tim Burton actually didn't want to do the sequel, he tried his best to make it as grand as before. Michael Keaton is still great as ever, and Danny Devito, Christopher Walken, and Michelle Pfeiffer are just flawless casting.
The sets are fantastic and just makes it look like a new city on its own again. The movie does spend time on the villains for newcomers to get to know and just either feel sorry for them or just want the Batman to defeat them.
The plot gets bigger, and more darker, but doesn't go too big to be overmatched or too dark to get nightmares from viewers, unless it's children who sees it. The effects are actually a little better than the first one even though Batman does have stellar effects.
It's got great action, some funny dark humor, and the other great stuff in it that made Batman famous, but improved.
