Review of Batman Returns (1992) by Cody L — 18 Feb 2013
In my opinion the best of the original series. Dropping the corniness of the first film and taking a more realistic, if not still somewhat out there turn. Danny Devito is an effective Penguin, audiences at the time were put off by the Penguin and the overall darkness of the film, but now they love it with Nolan's movies.
Christopher Walken provides an interesting and good secondary antagonist in the film. The relationship between Batman and Catwoman/Selina Kyle is developed well, but Catwoman may be admittedly overly sexual, not near as subtle as Anne Hatheway's later portrayal.
An excellent follow up to Batman.
