Review of Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders (2016) by Brian N — 11 Oct 2016
This was everything I hoped for and more. I grew up watching the old school Adam West Batman and fell in love with the character because of the old show. Over time we got the great films from Tim Burton and Chris Nolan and over time the old series became more and more corny, but its always had a special place in my heart.
Now, this came and this is everything I wanted in a new adventure featuring Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar. It was a total homage to the original. It was all there, the cheesiness, the bad lines, the bad death traps, and the villains, yes! Everyone was there, be it small, but those characters were in vintage form and even those we never thought we'd see again at least appear including Kink Tut, Egghead and The Bookworm, how awesome is that? Its even got some fun shout outs to other Batman stuff, a great quote from Michael Keaton made me laugh hard.
Its just a great throwback to everything I grew up with and though its not what we know today, it is now one of my favorite animated Batman films. If you know the classic series, this is a must see.
