Review of Batman Forever (1995) by Lee A — 11 May 2016
This was my first introduction to Batman, that I can remember. I saw it in the theaters and loved it. As I got older I wondered what the deal was with people not liking this movie. I just re-watched it and can understand much better now.
The added campiness and bright colors were a fun tribute to the 1960's TV show, but the overall movie was so-so. Was Jim Carrey the Riddler or Mad Hatter? I guess it wasn't really mind control.
.. but they could have done more with his character; and Two-face wasn't all that two-faced, mostly a crazed purple faced goon with idiot henchmen. The best part of the movie are the two songs during the end credits, even though Kissed By a Rose got short-changed (wish the songs would have been integrated into the movie itself).
