Review of Batman Forever (1995) by Ian C — 06 Mar 2016
In an era where special effects limited what you could and couldn't do with a super hero film Richard Donner/Lester managed to pull out two classics in Superman and Superman II. It wasn't until Tim Burton and Batman and Batman Returns in the early 80's and 90's did we see another pair of classic films.
Things were looking good until Joel Schumacher put out this pile of pig spunk and was one step away from completely destroying comic book adaptations for the foreseeable future. The only things that prevents you from gouging out your eyeballs with a rusty Cork screw is a sexy Nicole Kidman (pointless character) and an entertaining Jim Carrey as The Riddler.
Kilmer did nothing for me as Batman and Robin is an annoying twink cunt. Even the normally and always excellent Tommy Lee Jones is wank as Two Face. The oneliners are embarrassing and the attempt to throw in a "holy" gag from Robin was so fucking cringey.
However, money talks and after taking in over $300 at the box office went that things were about to get a whole lot worse.
