Review of Batman Forever (1995) by Ken S — 25 Jul 2012
"Batman Forever" is a mixed movie. "Batman Returns" had gotten parents up in arms (for no reason...kids can handle far more than there parents realize) so Burton was replaced by Joel Schumacher to create a much lighter Batman film.
The villains are both WAY to wacky, Robin is sort of hard to like, the style is a little too colorful, and Val Kilmer is no Michael Keaton (though I do like him in the role). I can enjoy this movie for the nostalgia factor, and while it lighter in tone, it never truly goes as horribly bright and poppy and wrong as the film that followed it.
The film still has some great moments, but I don't think it holds up nearly as well as either of the previous two films.
