Ever since I was really young, I would always like to watch this movie a lot. Now that I've recently viewed it again, I can see why I did. The over the top villains, the colorful scenery, and the fun atmosphere.

Batman Forever is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine that contains so many cheesy references and over the top acting. Other than that, if you can just shut your mind off for two hours, you should be able to have fun with this movie.

The performances overall were fairly good. For one, I enjoyed Val Kilmer's portrayal of Batman. He has a good look in the suit, and he overall gave the role justice, but nothing too extraordinary that would convince me that he IS batman.

As Bruce Wayne, I thought he also portrayed his character very well. You can tell that he has an emotional edge to Bruce and that he really holds himself high as a billionaire. As far as Robin goes played by Chris O'Donnel, I thought he had the right look and immature personality, but his line delivery on some aspects came off quite cheesy.

A majority of that issue would have to be with the writing, so not full blame is weighed down on his part. Overall, I didn't mind O'Donnel's portrayal of Robin, in the end I find the pair up between Batman and Robin quite compatible.

In addition, as far as the villains go, I thought Tommy Lee Jones portrayed Two Face very menacingly, but also very cartoonish. Yes this is a movie aimed at kids and many cartoonish elements will be present, but in the end I thoroughly enjoyed his portrayal of Two Face for the MOST part.

Furthermore, Jim Carrey is without a doubt a very entertaining actor to watch on screen. His over the top acting and cartoonish ego will for sure keep you engaged, but that element of him hurt his portrayal as The Riddler.

For majority of the time he was on screen, I felt that I was watching Jim Carrey being.... Well, being Jim Carrey! He's very on and off with his performance as The Riddler, and he weighs the movie down once his villain aspect is introduced in the movie, making it feel like a 60's batman flick.

By all means, he wasn't terrible, but I felt his performance toned down the seriousness of the movie. You can tell that both villains really had fun with this flick and gave the movie what they could.

Overall, is Batman Forever a great film? By all means NO! But it really is a lot of fun with pretty impressing visuals for its time, cool action, and enough entertainment from all the actors (mainly the villains.

) There were times when the film slowed down a bit, but nothing too extreme to disengage me from the movie. All in all, Batman Forever will receive a solid "GOOD" or 3/5!
