Review of Batman Begins (2005) by Scott D — 30 May 2016
Christopher Nolan is my favourite director and Batman may be my favourite superhero. However this may actually be my least favourite of Nolan's films. "Why such a high rating then?" Because his other films are so damn good.
This film has some hilarious moments from Michael Caine who is fantastic, as is Bale, Freeman, Oldman, Neeson, Murphy and most of the other members of the cast except from Holmes who always looks like she's trying not to laugh and her delivery is annoyingly flat.
I love watching the training sequences and the origins story, Zimmers score complements the story perfectly. The best thing this film did however is set up one of the greatest superhero movies ever without having to really take away from the story.
