Review of Batman Begins (2005) by Shaun B — 04 Dec 2018
I'M BATMAN! Christopher nolan's first outing with the caped crusader is the worst one in the trilogy, but is still a brilliant a superhero movie. Batman Begins stars Christian Bale, Rachel Holmes, Liam Neeson,Gary Oldman and Michael Caine. It has an engaging plot and was the best superhero movie when it came out. It has brilliant acting and was a real game changer for superhero movies because most of the other ones were trash. After training with his mentor, Batman begins his fight to free crime-ridden Gotham City from corruption. Christian Bale's first outing of the Caped Crusader was his worst performance in the trilogy, and really showed us Bruce Wayne's origin story and how he became Batman. Liam Neeson had a brilliant villain Ducard who is a brilliant villain that was brought to life by Christopher.
I really enjoyed this movie, I don't think it had any plot holes in it and had great visual effects for it's time. I thought the action scenes were really well acted and the camera shots were on the mark. My only problem with this movie was that Katie Holmes wasn't as good as Maggie Gyllenhaal (I think this was a good change). This is the darkest film in Nolan's trilogy, but other than that a brilliant superhero movie I love. I would recommend to Batman Fans and Marvel fans who think that DC movies are trash because before I watch this film I didn't like DC movies but the reviews made me watch and I ended up absolutely loving it. Recommend rating 12 for moderate violence, some scenes of horror and threat.
Grade A+.
