Review of Batman & Robin (1997) by Henrik K — 19 Apr 2014

It's pointless trying to introduce people to how bad this movie is, considering that most people have already heard about it through some source or other. All that I can say is believe the repute! The film isn't even bad in a fun way like you may hope it would be; the screenplay, especially the puns, are stupid and even painful, Schwarzenegger and Thurman are hammy in an unentertaining way, the sets and costumes are bizarre and the whole story is just a huge cartoon, making the Adam West Batman look like Raiders of the Lost Ark.

The 90s Batman movies are generally weak and Batman Returns is a lot more unpleasant and unnerving to watch, but there is a reason why this movie is considered the biggest setback of the franchise and it's the right one; Everything about it is annoying, unconvincing and unentertaining.
