Review of Batman and Harley Quinn (2017) by Andrew C — 17 Aug 2017
Given that this was a film about Harley Quinn, I expected it to be goofy and funny. For a comedy, it's rarely ever funny, it's almost too juvenile. It tries to pay homage to The Animated Series, but fails to capture what made it so charming.
In the end you get a disjointed film that doesn't know what it wants to be . The animation seems cheap at times, while at other times can look stunning. j Melissa Rauch delivers a forced performance that is hard to listen to, even losing her accent at times.
Which came off like a bad Jersey girl impression rather than an attempt at being Harley. The less said about her singing the better. I had high hopes for the film, but all the nostalgia you get from the character designs is wasted in this train wreck of a film.
I almost stopped watching during the fart scene. I kinda wish I did.
