Review of Batman (1989) by Robert M — 22 May 2013
Great atmosphere, and visually stunning even if it is lacking somewhat in the story department. It contains some great action, even if Batman breaks his one rule, something Tim Burton really failed to get.
Many people meet their end at the hands of Batman in this and in Batman Returns. None the less Michael Keaton is an excellent Dark Knight and Jack Nicholson is fantastic as the Joker, even if his thrown as the Clown Prince of Crime was taken over.
It's better seen as a Tim Burton film than as a Batman film.
