I never truly say I like a movie just because I liked it at a younger age. I always look at a film again and see if it truly held up. And throughout much of my life, Batman has been one of my favorite films of all time (I'd put it somewhere like #5 if you condense all the Lord of the Rings trilogy and most Kubrick films), the best superhero film of all time, and Tim Burton's best movie.

It's the film that I feel was what the Caped Crusader is truly about, with an edgy feel about it, a dark portrayal only people like Burton can pull off, and great performances from both Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson.

And even though there are a few elements of The Dark Knight which I find better than Batman, this is still the superior film and Keaton is a better Batman. And judging by many critic opinions, I find this film noticeably underrated.

The acting is great, Nicholson could get a bit over-the-top but he's THE FUCKING JOKER, it's a sort of requirement to be over-the-top for that role, the sets and overall visual design are Burton's best, the action scenes great, it's overall a terrifically amazing film and brilliantly delivered all around.
