Review of Basket Case 2 (1990) by David H — 01 Sep 2010

I'm some what ashamed to admit that I loved the first BASKET CASE (1982) for being one of the most sureal gore films I have seen. So the next move was to cheak out BASKET CASE 2 (1990) and BASKET CASE 3 (1991) and honestly the second film (which is mile less graphic) is just so surreal. Plot: picking up were the first film left off Dwayne and his blob ex- siamise brother Belial have been exposed as homicadial freaks after thier accident at the end of the film. After breaking out of the hospital the two are taken into the care of the Freak loving Granny Ruth who introduces them into her comminty of freaks. Four years later a reporter and photographer tack the two down and threaten the brothers new found home so in the spirt of the first film Dwayne and Belial go on a bloody war path but this time they are not alone when Granny Ruths freaks join in.

Overall impression: Less graphic than the first but a whole more werider , BASKET CASE 2 is alot more stronger of SFX gone are the chessy stop motion SFX but this time the viewers eyes are treated to much more amazing creature design of Granny Ruths freaks. Belial on the other hand looks diffrent than the first film but then again its expected after all there is an 8 year gap between both films. 6/10 BASKET CASE 2 was werid but BASKET CASE 3 is a whole lot werider.
