Review of Basket Case (1982) by Robert W — 24 Sep 2008

This film is cheesy, poorly acted, poorly scripted, mediocrely shot, and full of incontinuity and bad stop motion/ gore effects. If you absolutely can't stand these types of films stay away. However, if this intrigues you, I think you should give it a look.

As in most cases, all of this films downfalls can be flipped on their backs and seen as humorous or some other positive light. It really is an overall fun movie with lots of ridiculousness, and some really funny failed attempts at drama.

The story, while not entirely original, has enough never before seen or used ideas to make the film feel fresh. I think my favorite part of this movie is being able to see New York city in it's peek colors.
