Review of Basic Instinct 2 (2006) by Lauand O — 24 Dec 2007
Initially enjoyable rehash which gets by on sheer silliness. Unfortunately the by no means good script turns into absolute garbage in the final half hour, rendering the previous 80 minutes redundant. Sharon Stone is tremendously hammy in this one and a little too skinny, though her funbags are still on good form, while David Morrissey can do little with his nonsensical part.
David Thewlis comes off best as the detective, but the film as a whole is a waste of time. Even the sex scenes are tame in this one. Ho-hum.
