Review of Bas Ek Pal (2006) by Krishna S — 09 Feb 2008
Although it pales in comparison to the director's previous work (My Brother Nikhil), Bas ek Pal when seen on its own is quite a relief from the run of the mill. The story is well-layered and the director peels off one layer at a time.
The whole movie is based on the premise of how one's life can change in a moment and it brings that point home in a sensible manner. Each character has its shades of grey. All the performances are good.
However, the scripting could have been tighter and tends to get lethargic sometimes. The music is beautiful and adds depth to the movie at several places (esp. the song "Tere Bin"). Overall, it is a good film which could have been better.
