Review of Barton Fink (1991) by Tomek S — 20 Oct 2008
It is as pretentious and overrated as the Coen brothers' other film No Country For Old Men, pretending that it has a hidden message behind the messy and ridiculous plot. When you put the pieces together with the psychotic neighbor, the writer's block and the alcoholic novelist, the film doesn't make any sense at all.
And it is not even entertaining at all. I also don't like how the villain gets away with his crimes. I think the film's screenwriters themselves were also experiencing writer's block when they wrote this film.
