Review of Barton Fink (1991) by Chris V — 20 Dec 2009
Not everyone enjoys movies that are left open to much interpretation...and I agree that sometimes it just seems frustrating, or like a copout ending from a director or writer...but with this movie, I just really liked it.
..it starts off almost like a subdued woody allen movie, the jewish writer in new york, this idealized philosophy about life and humanity...and it just gets more and more twisted as it goes on...and finally for the last act, it takes this total david lynch turn, where you dont know how things happen or if they really happen, you can interpret actions and words in many different ways.
..it just gets you to think and discuss, which is always the mark of a great film to me.
