I'm not going to pretend that I know exactly what it all means. All I know is that "Barton Fink" is pure Coen doing what they do best: Making ambitious, somewhat confusing films with hidden meanings that prod at you incessantly until you finally give up and try to figure it out by looking on the IMDB comment boards. As far as being any good, "Barton Fink" moves at a pretty slow and plodding pace until about halfway through when thing start getting surreal. The acting is pretty good from everyone, especially John Goodman, who plays his character with the perfect amount of undercurrent strangeness and untrustworthy-ness in his otherwise all around nice guy.
