Review of Barton Fink (1991) by Gourab K — 01 Sep 2011
I love the way Coens coax the audience to ponder about the intellect of the plot. Brilliant direction, magnificent cast. For a while I thought I was watching the predecessor of Big Lebowski with Donny, Quintana, Walter and Smokey hehe.
The oration of common man just reflects the pseudo-communist image. The scripts like "Bart you dont understand. You are a tourist, you came here for a while. I lived here my whole life. This is my home.
You come to my house and complain I disturb you". Then "Hail Hitler" and "Fink is a Jewish name. Isn't it?" These scripts unveil the theme and the skills of the Coen. Another masterpiece like Fargo, No Country for Old Men and Big Lebowski.
