Review of Barton Fink (1991) by William R — 31 May 2011
Great performances from John Goodman and John Turturro but I just did not understand what the big deal was. But then again I feel the same way about most Coen Brother movies. I can appreciate how its well made, but great films rise above technical briliance and effect you personally and Coen Brother movies do not do that for me.
For me most of the great Coen Brother movies seems to be a case of Emperor's New Clothes where if you couldn't see the clothes you were considered stupid.
