Review of Barry Lyndon (1975) by Greg C — 06 May 2010
Really not impressed with this one. It was established right away that you should hate Barry Lyndon's character, which is completely okay, but must be done for some cinematic reason...a reason which is never explained.
Lady Lyndon's son is basically a pussified version of Hamlet. Case in point: "No Mother, you have my father much offended". Ryan O'Neal was NOT good in this one at all. Character development was poor to average.
The scenery was good, and some tidbits of the story were cool, but for the most part...kind've a letdown.
