Review of Barry Lyndon (1975) by Jill D — 06 Sep 2008
I saw this movie when it first came out. I think I was the only one in the theater that enjoyed it. It is indeed very slow moving, but it's such a gorgeous film. Every frame is like a painting. The costumes are unbelievably ornate and detailed.
And though it's not "Die Hard," there is enough human drama to keep my interest. Don't expect your adrenaline to surge, but do watch it on a big screen. Try to envision what efforts it took to put together each scene.
And drink them in, like fine wine.
