Review of Barry Lyndon (1975) by Douglas H — 12 Apr 2009
One of the 10 greatest films ever made, this is Kubrick's most moving film. I have always been disappointed that so many find it cold and detached for it so profoundly captures the complexity and fragility of humanity with an unerring vision.
It also is deserving of it's bandied about title as the most beautiful film ever made. I have seen it over 50 times and it gets no less rewarding as an experience.
