Review of Barry Lyndon (1975) by Zoey P — 16 Jun 2009

Lovely to look at, but thematically, it wasn't all that interesting/unique. I thought Ryan O'Neal's performance was personality-free; a more charismatic actor would have done a better job of bringing the beautiful images to life.

I see why his lackluster performance suits Kubric's message, but in all, the themes and technique of the film don't touch me too greatly.
