Review of Barry Lyndon (1975) by Kas G — 24 Mar 2010
This film has vision. I hated it, and loved it at the same time. Frustrating, alienating, and maddening; and yet intriguing and compulsive viewing.
Of course it's beautiful, but it's also heartless. Of course it's cinematic, but it's also literary. I'm surprised I hadn't seen it before today, and yet it's not at all surprising.
