It might be a film that asks great patience of its viewers, but its payoff is well worth it. The cinematography is widely discussed and lauded, and it's plain to see why after seeing only several moments of the film.
Not much of a movie for casual viewers due to its overly slow and deliberate pace, but those willing to take their film viewing to the next level will encounter this film eventually. Kubrick fans may or may not be disappointed, depending on how they like their Kubrick.
Barry Lyndon is a beautifully constructed period drama that can draw you in with its wealth of visual splendor.
