Review of Barry Lyndon (1975) by Ross S — 28 Dec 2011
Barry Lyndon is a refined masterpiece by an artist in his prime. Kubrick's use of color, movement, and panorama is indicative of his master of the medium of film. It may not be his darkest film, nor his most interesting subject manner, but it displays his rare gift as a filmmaker to blend all of the necessities of film, being narrative, costume, design, and landscape.
