Review of Barry Lyndon (1975) by Patrick B — 22 Dec 2009
Barry Lyndon isn't exactly one of Kubrick's more entertaining films, but it's just as fascinating thanks to a dynamic performance by Ryan O'Neal and Kubrick's skilled direction. I also thought Redmond Barry's (or Barry Lyndon) life was fascinating, and I really enjoyed how the movie showed his steady rise to success and fortune, only to bring him back down to a life that's worse than anything he could have imagined.
