Review of Barnyard (2006) by Kevin R — 02 Jun 2015
Were you raised in a barn?
Otis the Cow is the son of Ben the Cow. The animals of the farm respect Ben and the farm runs in an affective, fun fashion where everyone makes the best of things. And when intruders alert, Ben comes to stop them. When an unfortunate accident occurs, Otis has to take over for his father. Otis' carefree personality will need to adjust for the flock to be safe.
"She's a cupcake. There's nothing for you there but I kind of like her friend.".
Steve Oedekerk, director of Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, Nothing to Lose, Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, and Smart Alex, delivers Barnyard. The storyline for this picture was entertaining and fun and reminded me a little of Chicken Run. The animation was cool and worked well with the content. The voices were well selected and include Courtney Cox, Kevin James, Danny Glover, Wanda Sykes, Sam Elliott, and Rob Paulsen.
"I could just eat your head clean off...I mean it's fun up here.".
This was recently added to the Netflix kid's movies so my daughter and I sat down and watched it. This was fairly well done and well paced. I wouldn't say this is a classic and worth adding to your DVD collection, but my daughter enjoyed it from beginning to end. I recommend viewing this once with your kids.
"I don't want a leader who licks themselves.".
Grade: C+.
