Review of Barney's Version (2010) by Rob S — 06 Mar 2011
Paul Giamatti is proving to be one of the most consistent, yet still underrated actors of our time. His performance is this otherwise ho-hum film proves that yet again. Along with Rosamund Pike, Minnie Driver, and Dustin Hoffman, this sometimes jumpy to the point of confusing film is saved by the actors involved and Giamatti anchors all of it, giving one of the most d-bag of film characters a humanistic slant that few actors can pull off.
Though dragging a lot, the film does have some great lines and some really touching scenes. Good, but I don't think I will ever see this film again.
