Review of Barney's Version (2010) by Fernando B — 29 May 2011
Giamatti seems to have been training all his career for the part of Barney, and he nails it, making a character that should be completely unlikable into a sweet, albeit troubled, man. This is movie about a not so interesting life that becomes a poignant, funny and sarcastic tale about aging - and thus, life - and love - a concept that poor Barney has some trouble understanding.
One of the year's best.
