Review of Barney's Version (2010) by Anna E — 18 Jul 2011
I hate to say this, because I am semi-obsessed with Paul Giamatti, but this movie fell way below expectations. It was a perfect example of how most books do not transcend well to the screen. The supposed driving force of this flick is Barney's love for his eventual wife Miriam and the mysterious death of his friend.
I didn't feel or buy this love at first sight romance or find the friend's murder intriguing.
