This is actually a great character story at times it seems like a depressing film specially since the main protagonist isnt exactly a likeable character, since hes a drunk , smoker who doesnt seem happy with his life in spite of some great people he encounters mainly his third wife miriam.
Since his friends to be honest didnt do a lot to help him with his alcoholism and seem more of a bad influence in his life.
Like other reviewers have said before me hes a deeply flawed character that you try to understand but cannot empathize with.
