Review of Barcelona (1994) by Ashley M — 29 Sep 2007
It's been too long since I watched this movie. whit stillman's dry, sardonic comedies have a special place in my heart and tend closely to parallel my own take on the world.
When I first saw this in the theaters, there were a couple of scenes that I don't remember seeing in later video releases -- particularly one where eigeman is telling a couple of girls that nichols' spastic dancing is due to special straps he wears around his testicles. anyone know what i'm talking about here?
I find some of the reviews on this film a little terrifying. if you're seeing anything other than a satire of poorly-informed eurotrash anti-american propaganda in this, you're probably a bible-dancing goody-goody. grow a sense of humor.
