Review of Baraka (1992) by Michelle B — 05 Nov 2008
One of my favorite movies ever. Not a single spoken word is necessary. I used to live near some of these places so it brings back strong memories. The films shows the Balinese Kekak which is a trance playing out the Ramakien (or Ramayana) I would have like them to have included the Shadow puppet plays at the base of the volcano.
Very Powerful film. You can feel the spirit of many of the places and that is tough to do with film.
