Review of Baraka (1992) by Reevo S — 15 Dec 2010
Breathtaking, art-film/nature documentary consisting of filmed vignettes of everyday events worldwide from civilization to natural beauty. Although the film's purpose is ambiguous, that may be it's intention, to provoke ideas based on the simplicity of events in life.
While the music can also be a little jarring, the imagery is never dull. This is a film that demands patience and an open mind. Think of it though as a living art exhibition of planet Earth, and you may find it better than you'd initially believe.
