Review of Baraka (1992) by James P — 08 Mar 2011
90 minutes of marvellous shooting of great scenery. It's not thrilling or exciting in any way, but it's interesting and so very real. A documentary that will let you know the fantastic world we share in a very visual way. No audial words at all, this is just made for your eyes and your mind but the ambient music score capture the perfect atmosphere. A perfect film for allowing some chit-chat with a friend.
The shots are put togheter with creat caution. They tell a story using simmularities and contrasts. Is it slightly political as well? Anyhow, not a standard film (no acting, story or tricks, remember) - but it's a beautiful film.
