Review of Bangkok Dangerous (2008) by Jack G — 04 Jun 2010
Better than it has any right to be. I actually really enjoyed when it focused on the principle characters, and when I got into what Cage was doing with "Joe", who is at first seeming to be bored with the character but is giving nuance and something different (albeit he's no Alain Delon when it comes to quiet, detached hit-men).
That it suffers from some of the worst generic-itis in years- in its action scenes and violence (save for ONE arm chop-off), and whenever it has a plot- should go without saying. It's not a piece of crap like you might've heard, but is it worth watching? Not unless you're interested in watching Cage doing something different, which sometimes works and sometimes really doesn't.
