Review of Bangkok Dangerous (2008) by Samantha F — 04 Jun 2011
Pretty terrible, but not in the awesome way I've come to know and love from a Nic Cage project gone awry.
My favorite thing about this movie is that when the protege speaks to the dancer at the club, they don't subtitle it. His speaking to her is the important thing, not what's being said. Then Nic Cage falls in love with a woman who can't speak his language or hear him, and instead only smiles when he burns himself or tries to eat food.
Boring in spite of (actually, probably because) its own hyper-slickness. Literally the only reason to watch this movie is if you need to fill a space on some sort of Nic Cage bad hair bingo card.
