Review of Bang Bang You're Dead (2003) by Shane M — 04 Jul 2005

This movie takes an intense, detailed look at high school bullying, social hierarchy and the potential violent consequences.. the plot in a nutshell centers on a student treated as a pirriah by his peers after threatening to bomb the school.

. we pick up his journey far along his tormented path, but are eventually brought back to the initial incident which set him off.. while dealing with his demons, he is cast as the lead in a play about a school shooting, which causes an uproar in the school and community.

..the storytelling and acting are believable and unlike elephant's passive look at a school day ending in chaos and murder, this film takes the viewer right into the mind of a tormented youth and offers a front row seat to the hell some students call school.

. I liked both movies and am fascinated by the subject matter, but I preferred this one slightly. both are quality films and I appreciate their disparities.
